Walking wisely – ChiWalking and Feldenkrais Workshop

Posted on by
Come and join Angela James and Vita Kolodny for a a joint ChiWalking and Feldenkrais workshop.

Walking is the #1 recommended fitness program in the world. The farther you walk, the more fat you burn, it’s a fact. ChiWalking teaches you the best walking technique to be able to walk farther with greater ease by combining principles of T’ai Chi with walking. You’ll learn to walk tall, with a light step to reduce stress and strain on muscles, ligaments and joints. You'll also learn how to avoid the injuries that quickly derail any fitness program.

A lifetime of habits and injuries can begin to limit our freedom of movement. The Feldenkrais Method is particularly effective in helping restore our natural abilities to move easily and with minimal effort. It emphasizes mindfulness in movement that leads to significant improvements in posture, balance, co-ordination and well-being.

ChiWalking incorporates many concepts similar to Feldenkrais, for example mind body connection, posture and balance awareness and the focus on making choices.

I am excited to learn more about Feldenkrais as Vita and I prepare to present this workshop to you this fall.
