ChiRunning and ChiWalking Retreat on Salt Spring Island

Posted on by
This weekend retreat is for anyone wanting to experience a true ‘getaway weekend’ in nature with delicious organic food and likeminded people. You will learn how to use good body mechanics, which will not only enhance the joy of running and walking but you can apply these principles to your everyday life!

ChiRunning emphasizes efficient bio-mechanical running form to reduce the use of muscles while limiting the pounding and pain that the body takes during recreational jogs or competitive runs.

Although running is one of the oldest and most natural human activities, very few of us have been taught how to run well. As Danny Dreyer, founder of ChiRunning and ChiWalking, says, “It is not running that hurts your body; it is the way you run that’s doing the damage.”

ChiRunning goes hand in hand with ChiWalking, a mindful walking technique and fitness program for everyone. With ChiWalking the benefits are manyfold, as you learn to walk from the deep strength of your core and move in a way that prevents injuries.

Bring new depth to your movement, and transform your running and walking from a sport to a mindful practice. By the end of the weekend, you’ll be moving with greater ease and fluidity than you ever imagined possible.

Conditioning your mind is just as important as conditioning your body. Let ChiRunning and ChiWalking help you focus your mind, lift your spirit and open up your flow of chi.
