ChiRunnung and ChiWalking Retreat on Gabriola Island

Angela James is a Master ChiRunning and ChiWalking Coach with a wealth of experience teaching students the art of intelligent movement. Her mission is to offer innovative tools that create real change and a higher quality lifestyle.

ChiRunning and ChiWalking – a mindful approach to an ancient sport

Many people have said ChiRunning and ChiWalking have changed their life, not just because of the running, but because they transferred their experience and knowledge to the rest of their life.

These principles are easily applied to parenting, health, fitness, career, relationships, creative expression, spiritual exploration, and wherever your life needs to be balanced and supported.

In this immersion, you learn to listen to your body, breathe well, and make a moving meditation out of every stride. ChiWalking and ChiRunning integrates the inner focus of tai chi, putting the emphasis on body alignment and relaxation rather than strength and power.

Bring these ancient guidelines to your everyday choices and improve the quality of your whole life. Experience walking and running as a mindful practice that will be with you for the rest of your life. Learn to approach life as a T’ai Chi Master would, focused in your intent, centered in your physical and personal integrity, clear, open and innately responsive to the world around you.

  • Gathering and issuing
  • Being kind but firm, with ourselves and with others

Time: the retreat starts at on Friday night and ends on Sunday afternoon

  • 2 nights Accommodation
  • 6 meals – (dinner on Friday evening, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday)
  • All instruction – including optional time for reflection or to join the running and or walking groups
