11th Annual Turkey Trot

Posted on by

On Thanksgiving weekend 2009, I ran my personal best at the annual Turkey Trot 10 km race from Granville Island finishing in 45 mins 02 secs  coming  first in my age group!

I attribute my success to the ChiRunning technique. I practiced the y-chi focus (Focusing through the eyes) which allowed me to lean more, which is also the gas pedal. I was not aiming to get a Personal record. I simply applied the ChiRunning technique and as a result I was able to relax more and the results speak for themselves!

In typical exuberant style, I crossed the finish line with my trademark radiant smile, arms raised high in victory.

Until recently, I paid a price for my running passion. Constantly plagued by Achilles tendonitis, I was often in pain and my efforts were seriously compromised. Then I discovered ChiRunning and this revolutionary approach to running has changed everything allowing me to run not only pain free but with less effort. I am so impressed by the difference it has made in my life that I have become a Certified ChiRunning Instructor in order to teach others how to run injury free for the rest of their lives.
