We are woodworkers by nature and we have chosen furniture-making as a means of natural expression because it is our passion.
When an order comes into our shop, we are excited by the opportunity to create a new piece of furniture. We are honored that you have entrusted us with your project knowing that, when you take it home, our life’s work goes with it.

Materials:

Wood is one of the most amazing life-forces on this planet. With it we build homes and cathedrals, airplanes and bridges, picture frames and kitchen utensils. It satisfies our requirements for strength, beauty, food, shade and life-giving oxygen. It deserves our utmost reverence and respect.
We hand select our materials to ensure quality and consistency, paying attention to moisture contents, strength, color and grain patterns in each piece of furniture we build.

Construction:

Every piece of furniture is hand-crafted using time-honored joinery techniques along with current technological advances. Mortise and tenon, hardwood dowels and dovetail joints are used to create pleasing details and ensure generation-spanning longevity.

Finishers & Colors:

Our furniture is finished with hand-rubbed oil stains which we mix ourselves to achieve our traditional colors. Solid and Rubbed-back Paint and Distressed finishes are also available. We protect our furniture with several coats of low-sheen lacquer. Hand-rubbed wax finishes to authenticate a worn period look are available for a slight up-charge.

Stains:

We offer seven rich oil stains:
On Pine: Upper Canada, Buckskin, Acorn Brown and Brazil Nut
On Hardwood: Natural, Statesman and Aubergine.
Paint:

Our Solid and Rubbed-back paint finishes come in four Benjamin Moore colors:
New London Burgundy (HC-61), Louisburg Green(HC-113), Van Deusen Blue(HC-156) and Cloud White(CC-40) and in our own Ebony(black).
Note: We affect the finished color of these paints during the rubbing-back process and they will not match the sample color chips from your local store.

Hand - Distressing:

Over the years, we have become known for the authenticity of our hand-distressed finishes which simulate hand-planing, knocks and scrapes and worm holes. You may specify light or heavy distressing.
